St. Frank's collection consists of three parts-modern handcraft, vintage and print. Work with artisans in resource-poor areas to support quality work and protect traditional handicrafts. Retro items come from small businesses in these environments and upgrade recycling to minimize damage to our environment. Printed copies benefit our artisan partners through royalties and our artisan support fund.
St. Frank’s red clay works were hand-made in a female-led cooperative in Oaxaca, Mexico. The clay is handmade and there is no pottery wheel. Then, each piece is finished with red clay. In pre-Spanish times, this technique was used to make tortillas, a tool used in the kitchen to make tortillas. Today, Oaxaca women continue to practice this technique and pass it on from generation to generation.
